The magazine should be published and distributed to your local needlework shops and newsstands this September, 2002!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese little designs also lend themselves to many interpretations and uses. For instance, stitch one of the designs and fashion it into a little gift bag, fill it with some seasonal potpourri and add that scented touch! Or frame them as a group of 3, 4, or 5, using the chart for the ornament hanger and ribbons! They would also look marvelous stitched on some banding as a bellpull!! Each one of these ornaments would look gorgeous in the opening of a hand made Christmas Card!!!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eJust a word about the two different colourways… I had designed these ornaments originally in the Victorian Red and Green colours you see on the front cover of the leaflet. One day, as we were considering when we would publish them, Lisa asked if she could stitch them in her favorite antique rose and green colours on Platinum to make them look Antique. I was a bit hesitant at first, she'll tell you.. but I was grateful for any input, and Lisa has a great colour sense, so I agreed. Imagine my joy when I saw the results of her efforts! The \"Patience\" ornament, in the Antique Rose colours was soo gorgeous, I asked her to stitch the others in her \"colours\" also, in a row of three, and I designed a little gold hanger, with a little red bow for each of them, so they would look more like ornaments. I framed the result, and as you see, Lisa did a wonderful job, the trio of Faith Hope and Charity are a work of art! Thank you soo much Lisa.. and I hope we can work together again this way! A number of specialty stitches enhance the elegant Hardanger areas in this design. There is also a separate Hardanger cuff design at the back of the leaflet. It can be stitched and used to add a cuff to any ready-made or home- made stocking using your choice of a luxury fabric like moire, velvet or plaid taffeta! Designing this stocking was so much fun that I created several more items using the cardinal theme. A leaflet featuring the Christmas Cardinal Sampler and Cardinal Sugar-Plum ornament compliment this stocking beautifully! These folks help us enjoy the scent of pine or balsam in our living rooms, without harming our forests. At the top of the sampler you’ll see a log cabin covered with sparkling lights and glowing windows, a myriad of different trees, cardinals flying hither and yon are all part of the charm. The chickadees perch in the birch trees, as the sleigh bells ring, are you listening!? The Jingle Bell Farm exists in my imagination along with all the childhood memories and wishes that go along with Christmas. I’ve included many specialty stitches in the center tree farm area, and enjoyed sprinkling the entire scene with snowy specialty stitches! Parts of this design can be stitched separately, and can be used in many different ways. Just like in the Ravenhill farm Cross Stitched scenes, the top and bottom scenes are both wonderful as stand-alone designs, perhaps adding words using a petit alphabet to spell out Merry Christmas, or My heart is home for Christmas. The wee trees are so suitable for that special “Christmas Memory Book” or stitched up quickly for your homemade Christmas Cards. Many motifs can easily be stitched into Christmas Ornaments or Gift Bags. I’m sure your imagination can supply lots more uses for the different elements of this cheerful sampler.
