The NEW "Bling Tree Two" design is available as a full kit or a printed pattern. When you buy the product on this page, you will get the Full Kit, including the printed pattern, the linen, needles, silk flosses, and all the bling!
The first Bling Tree was so popular and people enjoyed it so much, that I decided to create a second Bling tree. This time I wanted to incorporate even more sparkle. :) To start, cross stitch the entire tree itself first. Don’t stress if all the crosses aren’t exact. They will be covered with bling, after all.
Then, dress up your tree the way you want by sewing on all the special decorations you have gathered. If you have a Kit, then unpack your goodies. If not, gather your own special trinkets from your stash, or search for some from online sources. You can follow the placement photo shown, or do your own thing and add various buttons, or charms you already have in your stash.
I suggest that you place your larger decorations first. (my example: ‘candles which cover approximately 18 fabric threads’). You stitch these by going through both bugle and oval beads at one go, and then place a small tacking stitch between both beads anchoring the thread.
Then create the garlands using beading needle, beads and a doubled strand of floss. Come up at the start of a garland, and then string all beads you want on your thread, bring needle down to hang down in a curve, and tack the entire garland down with a few tiny stitches using same thread.Next, place the smaller items as ornaments, big to small. That way it’s easier to get an overall balanced effect.
Frame your finished Bling Tree Two for maximum effect. Or enjoy Lisa’s instructions in this leaflet to finish it as a flat-fold. That way you can store it easily year after year! Merry Christmas to you! - Thea
