Victoria Sampler FAQ
Products - Leaflets, AccPacks, Tools and Courses
We have created our own conversion charts for you! Click here to download a PDF that includes most of the special threads that we use for our designs and their DMC equivalent! If you want to substitute another thread or colour, there are many conversion charts from DMC to other threads online.
First, type in the name of the pattern you want to know about into the Search Box. Even one word in the pattern will probably give you the exact name. Click on that and see the Main Product page.
Scroll down past the main photo, and see the Description under the photo. Then, for more info, click on the “View More” link under the description to expand that section. You will see the SIZE of the finished stitched area , the CUT SIZE suggested for framing, the type and colour of LINEN and MATERIALS used.. and even the Sampler STITCHES used! Unfortunately, we do not carry any Acc Packs any more.
Yes! A wonderful shop-owner from New Zealand has created an Excel Spreadsheet that lists all the threads used for each letter of the Alphabet. You can cross-reference them and the last column gives the totals for all. Threads used for all Alphabet Samplers by Thea
Our new site cannot display “Free Patterns” at this time, but you can find many Mini PDF patterns for a nominal fee on the website!

Courses in the VS Academy
Just click on CATALOG in the upper horizontal menu and hit Course Registration.
Victoria Sampler Courses run for a year from the date you registered. Check the bottom of the "description" of each course (found on the page with the large photo, and the price).
The VS Academy is a stand-alone platform that has been integrated into our website. It needs its own user name and password. When you sign up for the VS Academy, you will be sent an email asking you to create your own password for the Academy. We recommend that you use the same password that you use on the regular VS site.. so you don't have to remember a second one!
Downloading PDF patterns
All patterns are only available as PDF Downloads at this time. Save money on the pattern, AND on shipping - plus get your pattern sooner... meaning, like, instantly! However, we are working to bring a few patterns back into print, and perhaps add some full kits with printed patterns. Future plans!
Before you click on the download link, remember that you only have 3 downloads on before the link becomes inactive.
We recommend that you use a desktop computer to download any of our PDF patterns. It is easier to find your downloads that way. We have no power as to how or where your download file appears on your device. You may try finding it in your device’s FILES. In future, please try to download on desktop or laptop PC or Mac. That way you can ‘see’ the download happening at the lower left of your browser window.. and can right click on it to find it to save or print it. If you are downloading on a Tablet or iPad.. the files are not obvious.. you have to find the FILES section of your device. The same issue happens on your mobile phone. You may not immediately ‘see’ your download, but it has happened behind the scenes.
For more explanations: Read these detailed instructions carefully.
Copyright Reminder: All of our PDF patterns are copyright protected and – as with all our patterns – are not permitted to be copied or distributed to friends or others. We appreciate you sharing a link to our website (www.victoriasampler.com) with your friends rather than sharing the actual PDFs :) Thank you!
Currency
The base currency of our new website is in US $. Even though you can change the way the currency appears while you are searching our website, your final payment will be processed in US dollars.
Our website is now poweredby Shopify, and we have no choice in how it operates. Even though Shopify is a Canadian company, they also do all their business in the world’s most popular currency USD. 95% of our business is from the US or International and in order for us to compete with todays' internet shopping sites, we have had to change to a currency that is accepted by everyone around the world.
Also, all of our raw materials, even our paper, are all sourced from the USA and we also pay US$ for them (along with exchange rates and cc fees).
Our base prices have always been set in US$ in the past, but now we don't have the option to change to CDN$ on our website. We have supported our Canadian customers for years, by charging them less than we charged our American customers. Now we can no longer afford to do so.
We are a small home business trying to make a living in an increasingly challenging business internet environment. We do appreciate your support!
Happy Stitching!
Shipping
As we are located on the West Coast of Canada, in B.C., we mainly use Canada Post to save you on shipping. We also offer other shipping methods, which are available on your checkout page.
We do ship all over the world. Shipping costs will apply, and will be added at checkout. We recommend that you choose a shipping method that allows tracking if you want to be able to track your order! We otherwise use Air Mail through Canada Post. There is NO tracking with our regular Canada Post shipping.
It depends on where you are and if you choose tracking. Usually our orders arrive within 1-2 weeks. However, some orders can take 2-8 weeks to arrive to an address. Overseas deliveries can take anywhere from 4 - 10 weeks.
See more of our Shipping Policy here.
