What fun I had designing this lovely reticule! The stitcher on the front of the bag sits under a gorgeous floral vine with beautiful leaves and various different flowers using specialty stitches. On the back of the reticule is room for you to personalize it with your own initials, called a monogram. Both top and back top flanges are also embroidered with a vine and leaves. This design worked in soft shades of peach, coral and soft green, using overdyed silks with some solid coloured silks to match.. and embellishing them with tiny sparkling beads to add dimension and texture to the piece. The original was created for Cindy Valentine’s last retreat in Savannah, where I taught with 3 other designers. I’ve also designed a little Biscornu and Scissors Fob you can carry in this elegant Stitcher’s Reticule. They include the same stitches as my panel. You will learn a number of specialty stitches when you stitch this project. This would be just gorgeous for a bride or evening purse as well! Have fun making this antique bag! - Thea
