Victorian Purse Needlebook Scissor Keep Scissor Fob Thimble Pipkin - Embroidery and Cross Stitch - PDF Download
Description
A STITCHER’S RETICULE, NEEDLEBOOK, SCISSOR KEEP, SCISSOR FOB, AND THIMBLE PIPKIN Combine soft bronze green with mulberry coloured linen to stitch this lovely Victorian Purse and Smalls! When I first began the design process for this project, it was so delightful to decide on two linens, both added dimension and beauty to the final project. The purse is created with a large selection of delectable silks, and overdyed silk flosses, silk ribbons, pearls, sparkling beads. It is beautifully finished and can be tied together at the top with cording made of the antique mauve pearl cotton. The front, side and back panels are fully hand-stitched and lined with matching dupioni silk, as are all the matching smalls; the scissor fob heart with two linens, the pipkin, and the combination scissorskeep/needlebook. On the front panel of the purse is an English country scene with two ladies in long dresses reaching for the fruit of the ‘love’ tree in their garden. In the distance is their house on a hill with sheep grazing peacefully in the meadows. Under this graceful scene is a vine with large silk ribbon flowers, decorated with pearls. Then at the bottom is a delicious row of Bargello, incorporating the colours already used in the scene. The back panel shows a monogram of your initials enhanced by a floral vine. You’ll need to adjust the vine slightly if your letters are a bit wider than those shown on the back cover! The same silk floral and Bargello rows continue the front design elements to the back. The sides of the purse are stitched on mulberry coloured linen, using satin pins and wave pulled thread stitches entwined with a delicate vine of silk ribbon and flosses. Gorgeous! I hope you’ll love the colours of this project as much as I do! Be prepared for a few new stitches, and enjoy the Cross Stitched areas too. The finishing is easy, if you follow Lisa’s detailed directions and coloured photos.. In addition to the finishing techniques, you will also find clear and easy instructions and step by step photos to make your own cording and how to attach them to your lovely creations! -Thea
