I love Hydrangeas! Blue, pink or white.. they are some of my favorite flowers in a Summer Garden. This exquisite sampler celebrates the bountiful blue Hydrangea in colours of sky blue, gold, green, indigo blue and pink. The first of what will be a collection of lovely little samplers focused on cottages and garden flowers, this sampler will start a new series of teaching projects. Stitched with luscious over-dyed silks, silk flosses, metallic, and sparkling beads, it is perfectly designed for the student. It is not too big, so you can more effectively learn how to stitch the few lovely specialty stitches like Scotch Stitch, Partial Diamond Eyelets, and French Knots; some simple Drawn Thread; and even a band of Pulled Thread work. Cross Stitched areas at the top and bottom depict a basket of Hydrangea flowers picked from the Hydrangea garden surrounding the little blue cottage.
