The 2025 Blossoms of the Month Cross Stitch pattern is especially lovely now that all twelve designs are gathered together in one cheerful collection. Each little square has its own flower, color story, and personality, so the whole design feels fresh from beginning to end. You’ll also spot sweet details throughout, with little birds, bees, and baskets adding extra charm to the garden theme. Each month is represented by its own blossom: January, Carnation; February, Violet; March, Daffodil; April, Sweet Peas; May, Lily of the Valley; June, Rose; July, Lilies; August, Poppies; September, Morning Glory; October, Calendula; November, Mum; December, Poinsettia.
Now you can stitch this lovely design with your own choice of threads, beads, linen, charms, and other materials. Like all my Creative Designs, it is meant to give you room to play and enjoy the process. Choose the colors and thread brands you love best, or let the chart colors spark your imagination. Then simply stitch the cross stitches in your chosen shades and watch your own version come to life. There is no single right way to do it, and that is part of the pleasure. It’s relaxing, creative, and a very enjoyable way to make the design truly your own.
This is my twenty-sixth downloadable Creative Design pattern. I first began creating these designs as stitch-alongs for our Facebook Chat Group a few years ago, and it was such a pleasure to see everyone’s versions take shape. Each one was different, and that was part of the fun.
Creative Designs are perfect for using some of those tempting leftover threads, beads, charms, and other treasures from your stash. You can follow the color chart for inspiration, choose your own palette, or change colors as you go along. Start with a piece of linen, gather a few favorite materials, and simply enjoy watching the pattern grow and change under your needle.
There’s a lot of pleasure in stitching this way. It’s relaxed, creative, and full of little surprises. I’d love to see what you do with it, so do come visit us in our Facebook Chat Group and share your progress photos there. -Thea
Note: Thanks to all our creative FB Chat Group members (Louisa, Sablaise, Allain, Aarathi, Carla, Krista, Rosella, Naoko) for their beautiful stitching!
