Description

LEVEL 1 - #02 “SCOTCH STITCH"

Also known as Cushion Stitch or 'Satin' Cushion Stitch.  This stitch is a traditional embroidery stitch used on linen and canvas.  This stitch involves diagonal stitches forming square or rectangular patterns, covering multiple fabric threads to achieve desired effects.

Named for its association with Scottish needlework, the Scotch Stitch transcended its origins, gaining worldwide popularity. It embellishes various accessories, from handbags to cushions, imparting sophistication to everyday items.

In Victoria Sampler patterns, the Scotch Stitch plays a prominent role, enhancing designs such as Silk Wisteria and Crystal Waters. These samplers, like Heirloom Anniversary Sampler and Golden Dreams, exemplify the stitch's versatility.

Design area: 42h x 42w (3.3” x 3.3”)
Cut fabric for models: 25ct or 28ct linen  6" X 6"
